Here’s How You Can Boost your Level of Team Communication

If you want to boost your team communication or if you know that you are not entirely happy with how your team is working right now then you have nothing to worry about- because there are things that you can do to really turn things around. Team communication is vital when you operate a business, and when you are able to bring your team together, you really can make great things happen.

Open Door Policies

One thing that you can do to try and boost your team communication is to have open doors. If you have your doors open then you are communicating that everyone is welcome and that everyone is part of the same team as well. You should also try and encourage an open plan environment as well, as this will make teamwork much easier.  On top of this, you’ll also be able to encourage transparency and this is crucial if you want to build on the level of trust that you have with your team.

Feedback Works Both Ways

If you have handed in a project before and you find that it just isn’t up to scratch then you may find a note attached to the project telling you what’s wrong. This is very poor communication at work, because you may have no idea what you did wrong, what you need to improve or even when it needs to be done by. Constructive feedback is crucial here and it is vital if you want to increase the amount of communication that you have in your team. The last thing that you need to do here is increase the amount of boundaries that you have with your team and you also don’t want to cause issues between team members either. If you want to avoid this then one thing that you can do is make sure that you encourage face to face communication and even get a system in place to try and encourage this.

Teambuilding

If you want to build your team then team building treasure hunts are a great way for you to do this and you would be surprised at how easy it is for you to really get a ton of benefits. Your team will work as a unit throughout the tasks and this can really help them to work together when they are at work as well, so there really are no limits.

Roles and Responsibility

The main reason why teams break down is because of miscommunication. If a team member isn’t sure as to what is required of them then they probably won’t go on to complete the task to the right standard.  You need to try and clarify the role and even the responsibility that you are giving to each team member and you also need to make sure that they are aware of what they need to do as well. When you have done this, you can then work with your team to make sure that they are aware of how they need to change and even how they need to adapt to the new project at hand.
