Moving into a new home is exciting. You will likely want to move in as soon as possible and as quickly as possible after waiting so long for the checks and paperwork to be complete. Finalize the checks

When you purchase or rent a new home, you will want to ensure that the surveyor checks are complete. You won’t want to move into a home that lacks safety and security. You could end up in danger or facing a huge bill.

For instance, you will want to ensure that your electrics are safe and in working order. You can order an EICR online with leading suppliers. There, you can request a demo and ask about pricing before committing to the offer. You must ensure to have an EICR so that you know your electrics are safe and in working order.

Remove the clutter

Removing the clutter from your new home will ensure that the space is ready to move into. Instead of moving your stuff in and having two tasks to achieve at once, you can start unpacking straight away.

A clean space will be much easier to control and complete. You will be able to make everything how you want it sooner and make the new house into a home in no time.

Decide on the moving date

You will want to have a specific moving date so that you know when you are allowed to officially move in. without a set date, you could be without a place to live.

Deciding on the moving date with the sellers will ensure that you sell and pack up your old home in line with moving into your new home. You won’t want to be dealing with two properties at once and you won’t want to be without somewhere to live.

Pack your documents in a secure place

You will have lots of documents to fill out before moving. Those signed documents need to be kept and stored away safely.

Moving home involves lots of pacing, which could result in your misplacing stuff. One thing that you won’t want to misplace is the signed documents. Thus, ensure to pack them away in a secure place before dealing with your belongings. Your signed paperwork is much more important than your bathroom towels so ensure to keep a close eye on them.

Make the first-night kit

When you move into your new home, you will likely be surrounded by many boxes. You may finish the move late and not have the energy to sift through all of the boxes to find a fresh set of clothes and toothbrushes.

Thus, making the first-night kit will ensure that you have everything that you need for the first night in your new place and do not have to worry about unpacking boxes.
